Patricia Helen Jones Seabrookes, passed away unexpectedly on December 22, 2024, in Rock Hill, SC. She was surrounded by her immediate family and loved ones. She was born March 19, 1955, in Buffalo, NY. Patricia's warm spirit and unwavering dedication to her faith, family, and music ministry were evident from a young age.
An accomplished, gifted musician, she began her music career at the age of 3. Patricia's life was a testament to her love for music and commitment to serving the Lord. At St. John Baptist(Buffalo, NY), she was an Assistant Pianist and Choir Director for over 2 decades. In 1989 she became Minister of Music, regularly travelling the country, touching lives with her music ministry with the nationally known Rev. B.W Smith. Patricia was committed to her family and in 2000, she relocated to Atlanta, GA to be a present mother and grandmother. Additionally, as a support to her parents, in 2005, she relocated to Simpsonville, SC to care for them in their latter days. In 2013, She earned her Associates in Biblical Studies at North Carolina College of Theology and In 2017, Patricia eventually became the Minister of Music at Mount Sinai Baptist Church(Spartanburg, SC), a church in which her family served for many generations. Over the years, her passion for mentoring musicians and writing music, created a legacy that will resonate for many generations to come.
She was a cherished daughter to her late parents, Abbie Helen and Booker T. Jones, Alexis Seabrookes (husband), stepmother to Cassie and Devonn Seabrookes and a nurturing sister to her brothers/sisters - Dennis Jones (Tandra), Rayford Drummond, Jimmy Gray (Janet), Thelma Glenn, and Mildred Smith.
Her marriage to Foster(Alex) Alexis Seabrookes was a partnership grounded in love and their commitment to doing God’s work at the Old Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. They often studied the Bible together and Sunday School lessons. Their joy was working in the garden together, caring for the dog, stray cats, and chickens. Patricia's role as a mother to her daughter, Trina Potts, was one of her greatest joys, and the bond they shared was a source of love, strength, and protection. Her granddaughter, Alexis Stroud, was the light and soul of her life, and her influence as a role model will continue to be a guiding light as she continues her journey on this earth.
Patricia Helen Jones Seabrooke’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and faith. Her warm and yielding spirit often masked her willful desire to do things “her way.” Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her beloved husband, daughter, granddaughter, siblings, cousin, dear friends, and the many other lives she touched. Her journey on earth may have ended, but the melody of her life's work will continue to echo in the hearts of those she loved and served.
