Patricia Elizabeth Gilbert Powers

Patricia (Patsy) Elizabeth Gilbert Powers, 87 of Inman, SC passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born July 30, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Milo Lionel and Ruth Evelyn Johnson Gilbert. She was predeceased by her husband Douglas Edgar Powers. 

Patsy was a member of the Spartanburg SDA Church where she served in music ministry from the time she was 16 as pianist, then organist and choir director until she retired in her 80’s. She also served in various other churches as an organist, retiring July 7, 2024 from Unity Presbyterian Church as their organist. She was a member of the Spartanburg Philharmonic Music Club and the American Guild of Organists. She worked alongside her husband in his business Powers Printing Co., Inc. until their retirement. 

She is survived by her daughter Tamara Powers King (Bryan) of Ooltewah, TN and Andrea Powers Tolson (David) of Ocracoke, NC; grandchildren Catherine Yates, Caroline Thomas (Matthew), and Grant Jackson (Amanda); great grandchildren Yaden and Luna Yates. 

A private burial will be held for the family followed by a memorial service to be held at a later date.
