Taylors – Pamela Zint Kendig, 62, died December 19, 2017. She had twice battled non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in the months preceding her death with high dose chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant.
Born in Schenectady, NY, she was the wife of William C. Kendig, who survives and the daughter of William Carl Zint, Jr. and Margaret Van Keuren Zint, both deceased.
Mrs. Kendig was a Registered Nurse for 40 years having graduated from the Roanoke Memorial School of Professional Nursing in Virginia in 1976.
She was employed at various hospitals including Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Virginia, Greenville Memorial Hospital and Carolina Center for Behavioral Health.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior.
Pam was on the board of the Greenville Little Theatre and the LCOS Day School. She served as PTA President while her children were in elementary school. At church she worked with the Youth Group and taught Sunday School. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and organizing events for the organizations she supported.
In addition to her husband Bill, survivors include their two children, Christine M. Kendig and Margaret V. Kendig; three siblings, Barbara Zint Tuck of Pulaski, VA, William Carl Zint, III and wife Pat of Treasure Island, FL, Marcy Zint McAdams and husband Ken of Burlington, NC, Beth Zeller Zint, widow of Pam’s brother James A. Zint Sr who preceded her in death last year; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow immediately in the Fellowship Hall.
