Pamela Marie Kelly passed away April 24, 2023. Born in Boston, MA on May 12, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Philip Kelly and Mary Cavanaugh-Kelly.
Pam's father was career military, so the family relocated often to follow her father's military career. Pam often shared her story of having forty-nine moves during her lifetime. The last seven moves were with her husband, Dale Jones.
Pam's education includes Rancocas Valley Regional High School, NJ class of 1965; Franciscan University of Steubenville, OH; Bryn Mawr College, PA; AS-Harcum College, PA; B.A. and M.A. from Rowan University, NJ; Ph.D. from University of South Carolina, SC.
In the fall of 1985, Pam met Dale Jones met in Germany on a blind date arranged by a mutual friend. They were married on March 12, 1992, at the Sumter County Court House in South Carolina. Pam and Dale lived in Germany for 21 years. They worked as civilian Federal workers for the U.S. Army. While living in Germany, Pam and Dale traveled extensively throughout Europe, mainly by the EuroRail train system. In addition, Pam enjoyed acting as an unofficial "tour guide" and historian to numerous friends and family that visited from the U. S.
Pam is survived by her son, Mark Fisher of Cherry Hill, NJ; husband, Dale Jones of Greenville, SC; two sisters, Cheryl Gilbert (Jeff) of Allentown, PA, and Janet Leonard of Hainesport, NJ. Also surviving are three nieces, three great-nieces, and one great-nephew in N.J.; 16 grandchildren in OK; and five great-grandsons in OK and FL.
Friends and family may visit and register from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at Cremation Society of SC – Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC 29611. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:30 p.m. at the same location.
Before her passing, Pam asked that people donate to the Touched By ALS charitable organization instead of flowers for the memorial service to help assist other SC individuals affected by the horrific ALS disease. Website:
