Pamela "Pam" Hanna took her final bow on December 17, 2023, at the age of 76. She was born April 16, 1947, in Los Angeles, CA, to Richard and Doris Hanna. She departed from this stage in Spartanburg, SC, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and friendship that could light up the darkest of rooms. Pam was the star of her own life's show, playing the role of a daughter, sister, and committed mother. Despite challenges, she graduated from high school and was part of a home and community filled with merriment, love, and song. She is survived by her son, Matthew Thomas Hanna, with his wife Darleen Melissa Hanna of Boiling Springs SC, and her sisters, Kimberly Dicus of Memphis TN and Lydia Thornton of Leesburg VA.
Pam was a friend to everyone she met, and her laughter was infectious. Her love for animals, especially cats, was well known as was her ability to mimic the cat’s meow. She often used the phrase “oh woof” as a substitute for a bad word and it always got people laughing.
She had a range of musical interests including the classics from “The Sound of Music” and “Mary Poppins”, church hymns, Christmas caroling, and singing polkas with her son’s Oompah Band. Her voice was bright and upbeat, could turn any mundane day into a musical, and she rarely missed a beat or word. She also enjoyed crocheting, sketching, and spending time on the lake with her son, reeling in the fish.
So, here's to Pam, a woman who loved life, loved to be around people, enjoyed her friends, and sang with confidence and joy. Her spunky spirit will be missed and fondly remembered. May she find eternal peace in the presence of God and be reunited with those who went before her.
