Pamela "Pam" McDonald Axson, peacefully entered into eternal life on February 22, 2024, at her home in Seneca, SC. Born to the late W. F. and Velma McDonald on July 23, 1952, in Greenville, SC. Pam was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and Aunt.
Pam dedicated her professional life to the medical field and retired as a Medical Laboratory Technician from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2013. Her commitment to helping others extended beyond her work, as she was actively involved in her community notably serving as President for The Charleston Benevolent Patriotic Order of Does Drove #231 in 2005 and was also a member of the Grand Lodge. Her service and leadership within the organization exemplified her caring nature and her desire to make a positive impact on those around her.
Pam's interests were a reflection of her vibrant spirit. She was an avid supporter of Gamecock football and baseball, and her enthusiasm to cheer on the Atlanta Braves was paramount. Reading provided her with an escape to other worlds, and she cherished the moments spent lost in a good book. Above all, Pam's heart belonged to her family, with whom she shared her greatest joys and proudest moments.
Pam is predeceased by her parents W.F. & Velma McDonald and her beloved husband Danny Joe Axson, Sr. She is survived by her siblings Barbara M. Ross, and Bruce A. McDonald, and sister-in-law Susan McDonald. Her children are Danny Joe Axson, II (Jay) her daughter, Erin Axson Colcord, and son in law Bobby Colcord. Her grandchildren are Ashlynn Elizabeth Page Axson, Karsyn Danielle Burriss, and William Sterling Bryce Axson. Her nieces Jennifer (Matt) Link, and Amanda McDonald and nephew Douglas (Beth) McDonald.
As we bid farewell to Pam, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and joy. Her memory will continue to inspire us, reminding us to embrace life with the same passion and kindness that she exemplified. Pam's legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have been graced by her presence.
Her memorial service will take place on Friday, March 1st at 2 pm at The Elks Lodge of Seneca located at 645 E North 1st Street Seneca SC 29678. After the service, the family asks that you follow them to Pam’s final resting place Oconee Memorial Park located at 1923 Blue Ridge Blvd. Seneca, SC 29678 for a final prayer.
