Nona Boff, age 65, of Simpsonville, SC, went to be with her Lord, surrounded by her family and friends, at her home after a long journey through cancer on Friday, July 14, 2017. Nona was a retired educator, teaching in Ohio and in South Carolina at Taylors Elementary and Buena Vista Elementary. Born and raised in Ohio, she graduated from Columbia High School in 1970, Bowling Green State University with a bachelors degree, Ashland University with a masters degree, and Tiffin Beauty Academy. She was a member of Fellowship Greenville and OES 189. She was an avid cat lover and enjoyed attending various Bible studies.
She was preceded in death by her parents,Tim and Margaret Peggs, and her husband of 27 years, Gary Boff. Surviving are a birth sister, Frances (Tom) Cole of Findlay, Ohio; two birth brothers, Ed (Daisy) Myers of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Ray Messenger of Bluffton, Ohio; a step-son, Dusty (Christina) Boff of North Point, Florida; a step-daughter, Sonja (Mike) Davidson of Sarasota, Florida; and four grandchildren, Celeste Reid and Shane Davidson of Sarasota, Florida, and Dustin and Lauren Boff of North Point, Florida.
Memorial services will be held at Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC, on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. and a private scattering of ashes at the Potter's Place, Central, SC, with the Rev. Dr. Melanie Riddle officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
The family would like to thank Homestead Hospice and Home Instead caregivers for their exemplary care of Nona during the final stage of her illness.
