Nick Gerich, a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2023, in Greenville, SC. Born on February 21, 1928, in Yugoslavia. Nick was a man of wisdom and creativity, whose love for life and family was evident in everything he did. He was preceded in death by his parents, Josef Gerich and Katharina Manhardt Gerich.

Nick was the beloved husband of the late Helen Gerich and the proud father of four sons, two of whom, Nicholas J. Gerich and Michael E. Gerich, predeceased him. He is survived by his sons, Robert Gerich and James Gerich, who will forever cherish their father's memory. Nick was also a doting grandfather to Mindy (Leonard Brown) Gerich, Denise (Mike) Harned, Jennifer (Kevin) Hayes, Kathleen Robinson, and Michael D. Gerich. His love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was immeasurable, and he took great joy in spending time with them.

Nick was the cherished brother of Loni Gauche (Don), Frank (Christine) Gerich, Anton (Lila) Gerich, Joseph (Mary Ann) Gerich, Horst (Peggy) Gerich, and Lani (Robert) Koche. He was preceded in death by his brother Anton Gerich. His siblings will remember him as a wise and loving brother who was always there for them.

Nick completed his high school education and went on to work as a tool and die maker. He was a dedicated worker, known for his meticulous attention to detail and his creative problem-solving skills. After many years of service, he retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.

In his leisure time, Nick was an avid bowler, participating in a league twice a week. He was also a passionate fisherman who loved spending time outdoors. His garden was his pride and joy, and he spent countless hours maintaining his beautiful flower beds. Nick also had a unique interest in racing pigeons, a hobby that brought him great joy and satisfaction.

Nick's love for his family and friends was evident in everything he did. He was a man of great wisdom, always ready to share his knowledge and experience with those around him. His creative spirit was evident in his work and his hobbies, and he was always ready to build something new.

Nick Gerich's life was a testament to the power of love, wisdom, and creativity. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His memory will be cherished, and his legacy will continue to inspire
