Nancy Shawver, a beacon of love and creativity, passed away on August 5, 2024, in Spartanburg, SC. Born on July 25, 1949, in Winfield, KS, Nancy's life was a tapestry of cherished moments and enduring relationships.

Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late John Leffingwell and Doris Weber. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Beverley Leffingwell, and her brother, John E. Leffingwell. 

She is survived by her devoted sister, Rosemary Leffingwell of Kansas, and loving life partner, Bill Black, of Woodruff, SC. Her legacy continues through her children, Tammy Smith and her boyfriend Robert Edwards of Hillrose, CO, and Jeff Shawver and his wife Jodi Shawver of Severance, CO. Nancy's grandchildren-Michelle Corey and her husband Jesse Corey of Jacksonville, NC, Nathan Shawver, and Amber Shawver of Severance, CO-will forever cherish the memories and lessons imparted by their adoring grandmother. Nancy was loved and adored by her extended family of nieces and nephews, as well, who seek comfort in their grief by recollecting upon holidays and family gatherings spent with her in Kansas and Colorado throughout the years. Nancy also has many extended family members in Woodruff which she loved very much. The extended family members: Debi and Rick Collier, Trina Black & John, Gerry Black & Kim along with many other members and friends.

Nancy's professional life was marked by her role as a skilled optician. The Colorado mountains were her sanctuary, where she found solace and inspiration. Camping trips were not just outings but were adventures where she connected deeply with nature and her loved ones. Crafting was another avenue for Nancy's creativity, where she fashioned not just objects but also memories.

A master storyteller, Nancy's ghost stories were legendary, captivating the imaginations of both young and old. Her presence at family events was a source of joy, and her love for Christmas and birthday parties was infectious, making every celebration a cherished memory.

Nancy's life was a reflection of the words that best described her: loving, intelligent, and creative. Her love enveloped her family and friends, her intelligence shone through in every aspect of her life, and her creativity brought beauty to the world around her.
