Nancy M. Kirk went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, August 5, 2022, in Greenville, South Carolina.
She was born the third of four daughters to H. Roy Galpin and Kathryn (nee. Stout) Galpin on June 26, 1928, in Gallatin, Missouri. She grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, during the “Great Depression” graduating High School in 1945. She married Raymond H. Kirk upon his return from World War II, where he served as a pilot flying B-17s. From that union came three sons, Raymond H. Kirk Jr., David Kirk, and Wayne Daniel Kirk; eight grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Joan of Kansas City, MO.
Nancy was a devoted wife to her husband, Ray, who served as a United Methodist minister in Northern Illinois and Western North Carolina, for over 50 years, and who preceded her in death in 2012. She was a well-known portrait artist and was a member of the American Portrait Artists Guild.
She will be buried with her husband at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. A Memorial Service is planned for a later date in Kansas City, Missouri.
