Nancy Margaret Hurlburt

Nancy Margaret (Hoxter) Hurlburt fell asleep in the Lord on January 11, 2025, at her home in Greenville, SC. She was 95. Born on May 29, 1929, Nancy was the daughter of Earl and Lavenia Hoxter. She was the eldest of six children. She was preceded in death by all her siblings, her parents, and 2 grandchildren Carly Hurlburt and Mark Anderson. 

Nancy graduated from Columbia Bible College with a degree in Bible where she also met her husband, Horace Hurlburt. They married on March 3, 1956, and shared many blessed years of marriage until Horace passed from this life to be with his Savior on July 14, 2011.

Nancy is survived by her nine children: Helen Houtz (Marlin), Ruth Evans (Steve), Esther Talbert (Layton), Rachel Anderson (Scott), Charles Hurlburt (1st wife Joanne deceased, wife-Beverly), Judith Elliott (Steven deceased), Jennie Weaver (Andrew), Timothy Hurlburt (Shela), and David Hurlburt (Patricia). She also had 42 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.

Nancy is remembered for her sincere faith in Christ and deep love for her family. She frequently called her children and looked forward to visits from each of them. She consistently inquired about the welfare of each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she faithfully prayed for them. Nancy also enjoyed listening to the Bible and audio sermons. One of her favorite pastimes was going out to eat with loved ones.

A funeral service will be held at Mount Calvary Baptist Church (Greenville, SC) at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 16, 2025. The service will be preceded by a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. A private graveside service will follow.
