Nancy Jean Elswick (Swift)

March 19, 1949 — November 6, 2023

Nancy Jean Elswick (Swift) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on November 6, 2023, in Easley, SC. Born on March 19, 1949, in New London, CT. She was a beacon of love, humor, and intelligence, whose light touched the lives of all who knew her.

Nancy was the beloved spouse of Chris Dillon (Moll), with whom she shared 38 beautiful years. She was the cherished daughter of the late Peter T. and Helen Swift (Morin). She was preceded by her siblings; her dear sister Joan Discordia (Swift), and brothers Thomas Swift, Richard Swift, and Michael Swift. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters Wendy Sideri (Elswick) and her husband David, Shannon Cioce (Dillon) and her husband Gerald, Stephanie Lynch (Dillon), Carolyn Lounsberry (Dillon), and Amanda Dillon. Nancy's love also extended to her 12 grandchildren, and several nieces, and nephews, who will miss her dearly.

She attended St Mary's Elementary and was a graduate of New London High School in CT. She embarked on a successful career as an optician. A profession that allowed her to help others see the world more clearly. Her most cherished role, however, was that of a life partner to Chirs and a mother raising their five daughters.

Nancy had a zest for life that was evident in her many interests. She found solace, peace, and tranquility in her garden. She enjoyed bowling and the friendly competition and camaraderie that came with the sport. She was a bird watcher who found joy in the simple beauty of nature. As an animal lover, she had a soft spot for all creatures great and small. Above all, Nancy was a family woman. She cherished the time spent with Chris and their girls. Creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her lively spirit was best expressed through her deep love of music. She was an avid reader and a keen history buff.

She was a woman of many virtues, rooted in her faith in the Lord. Deeply loving and always ready with a comforting word or a warm hug. Funny with a quick wit that brought smiles to the faces of those around her. Highly intelligent with the ability to converse on many subjects.

Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled; however, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her life. Remembering the joy, warmth, and love she brought. She was a remarkable woman whose life was a testament to the power of love, the joy of laughter, the value of wisdom, and living through her faith. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on.
