Nadine LaPenna, 51, of Taylors, SC, passed away on August 30, 2023, after a long and brave battle with brain cancer.
Nadine loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her family, and her friends. Those who knew her could clearly see that she wanted to glorify God in everything she did. Nadine had a unique way of bringing people together, and she gave from the bottom of her heart. She lived a healthy, wholesome lifestyle that flowed into her family and friends. Cooking was one of her favorite pastimes and many friends continue to enjoy her recipes. She loved to bring meals to people who were celebrating the birth of a child, or were struggling through hard times. When she did, she ensured it was her very best. Nadine was also very hospitable, and the LaPenna home was always open to anyone. Whether you were a friend, family, or stranger, you were welcomed the moment you walked in the door. She loved big, and she loved well.
Nadine was born on February 12, 1972, to her loving parents Raymond and Patricia Villeneuve in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. After she graduated from Eastview High School in 1990, Nadine studied nursing at Pensacola Christian College where she met her husband Joseph "Joe" LaPenna. They were married in 1994 and moved to Greenville, SC, where they have lived in the area since. In addition to her biggest job as “mom,“ she used her experiences to run Human Resources and Finance for many years at Drum Creative.
Married for 29 years, Nadine and Joe have two children, Katelyn (LaPenna) Wallace, married to William Wallace, and Matthew LaPenna, married to Isabella (Orrico) LaPenna. Nadine fiercely loved her family.
In addition to her parents, husband, and children, Nadine is also survived by her brother, Michael Villeneuve, his wife, Charlene Villeneuve, and their two daughters, Hailey and Lilly Villeneuve. Nadine loved Mike and his family deeply and always looked forward to spending time together.
Further, she is survived by her loving in-laws, Frank "Chicky" and Carolyn "Carol" LaPenna. They lovingly called Nadine, "daughter.”
Finally, Nadine is survived by literally hundreds of dear friends, a testament to her loyalty and love.
Nadine would want everyone to know that her faith has become sight and now, and forever, it is well with her soul.
Visitation will be held at North Hills Church on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 6:30-9:00 PM; and her Homegoing Service will be on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to Let There Be Mom at
