She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Everett Teague, Jr., daughter Milly Teague Sink Raleigh, NC passed away December 18, 2007, and daughter in law Donna Teague passed away in 2016. She is survived by her four living children: Deppie Teague Whitwam (Jack) Tampa, FL; Betsy Teague Glover (Rick) Wilmington, NC; Fowler Teague Wujcik (Tracy) Tallahassee, FL; and Samuel Everett Teague III, Greenville, SC. Myra was born in Chapel Hill, NC February 8, 1925. Her parents were Rhett Anderson Miller and Deppie Dell Arment. Myra graduated from Meredith College in 1946 with a degree in Elementary Education. Her first teaching job was in 4th grade at Hawthorne, Florida. She taught school until her husband (Sam Teague) completed his degree in Business Administration at the University of Florida and then they returned to his hometown of Tallahassee, Florida. Later Myra began classes at Florida State University to become a reading teacher. A group of concerned parents approached her with a new program teaching Dyslexic children to read. It was off to Mt. Pleasant, SC to take training. Then she began a Saturday program to teach parents how to help their children. The program produced such success, the parents organized to build a full-time school which became Woodland Hall Academy in Tallahassee. Her greatest accomplishment was raising five wonderful children who became good citizens and filled her life with joy, fun, frustration, and pride in each and every one of them. A family graveside service will be held at a future date.
