Mufasa Elbey, an Honorable Veteran, machine operator, entrepreneur, and cherished family member, passed away on April 25, 2025, at the Richard M. Campbell Veterans Hospital in Anderson, South Carolina. He was born on November 2, 1956, in Columbia, South Carolina.

Mufasa demonstrated an unwavering commitment to both his career and his family. After graduating from high school, he boldly entered the military, serving honorably in two wars. His time in the Armed Forces shaped not only his work ethic but also his character, as he returned to civilian life with a deep appreciation for humanity.

Upon returning from military service, Mufasa embarked on a successful career as a machine operator at a paper company, where he dedicated many years to his role until retirement. Even after leaving his full-time position, Mufasa's entrepreneurial spirit thrived; he engaged in various ventures, selling an array of products that showcased his innovative thinking and ability to connect with others.

Mufasa was known for his complex personality, possessing both a serious demeanor and a playful sense of humor. This duality endeared him to many, as did his readiness to help others, even when it occasionally led to being taken advantage of. He steadfastly remained true to his nature, believing in the goodness of people and fostering connections that enriched his life and the lives of those around him.

A man of quiet observation, Mufasa had a perceptive nature that complemented his enjoyment of movement and family gatherings. His hobbies reflected a love for being active while surrounded by loved ones, which brought him considerable joy.

Mufasa is survived by his brothers, Anthony Berry and Menard Berry, and his sister, Valerie Foster, along with several nieces and nephews who will carry on his legacy. He was preceded in death by his birth mother, Marjorie Berry, and his sister, Felicia Johnson.

A Celebration of Life will take place on April 30, 2025, from 11:00 AM  to 2:00 PM at the Cremation Society Of South Carolina - Westville Funerals Operations Center, located at 6010 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC 29611. This gathering will honor the impactful life of Mufasa Elbey, a man whose contributions to both his country and his family will be remembered fondly.
