Mitchell Douglas Ray, 67, died Monday, March 11, 2019 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, following long-time battle with cancer.
He leaves his daughter, Shauna Hicks and her husband, Jeffrey Hicks; his daughter, Nikki Phillips and her husband, Andrew Phillips; his brothers, Mike Ray and Jeff Ray and their companions and children; and many close friends.
Born in Covington, Kentucky, the son of Harold and Lillian (Ray) Rosati, Mitch relocated to the Upstate with his father, stepmother (Pauline Ray) and family as a child. He was a graduate of Wade Hampton High School, class of 1969 and a retired Quality Control Manager for Carolina Pride in Greenwood. In 1998, Mitch relocated to Iva, SC where he lived on Lake Secession for more than 20 years.
An avid sportsman, Mitch enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing for tournament and leisure. He also had a passion for motorcycles and enjoyed riding and customizing his Harley Davidson Electra Glide Classic. He participated in rallies and charity rides throughout the Southeast, including the Anderson Toys for Tots Parade which was a family tradition each holiday season.
