We are saddened to report that Miriam Mulvey of Travelers Rest, SC (formerly Westbury, NY) has passed on May 14, 2024 after a brief and sudden illness. We are fortunate that we were able to be with her during this time, and that her core values could be upheld, even in her final days of illness.
Miriam, above all, was a strong and fiercely independent woman. She overcame significant obstacles early in life to become a devoted wife to Larry, and mother to Laura and Lisa. There was never a doubt of how much she loved her children, and how protective and supportive she was of them. She was a loving, generous grandparent to her five grandsons (Oliver, Crosby, Andrew, Luca, and James) and in her final days was more focused on their adaptability than her own.
Miriam has always enjoyed exercise in all forms including cycling, running, and swimming. After her move to Travelers Rest, she immersed herself fully in the Greenville cycling community. She will be remembered for her fierce determination, scaling the toughest climbs in the region.
We would like to thank all who cared for her in her final week at Greenville Memorial Hospital, with a special acknowledgement to the loving hospice staff, who ensured the most peaceful passing.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Village Wrench in W. Greenville or to the palliative and hospice department at Prisma Health.
