Mike was an amazing, talented artist. He had the ability to capture the beauty of the world around him as he saw it. He loved painting images of Spartanburg as it was in days gone by. He would put hours of research into his paintings. His attention to every little detail makes his artwork truly unique and special. He was a great storyteller. He was also a wonderful father and grandfather. His first granddaughter, Maggie, was the subject of many of his paintings after her birth. He was a special man and loved by many. He will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Cleveland Park Events Center, from 3-5pm. All who have been touched by his life or artwork are encouraged to attend. His family requests casual attire in bright colors. All who attend are encouraged to share a personal story or memory of Mike. He would want his Celebration to be about sharing love and stories. His family is at their respective homes.
