Michael Shotton, 74, of Anderson, SC, formerly of Newcastle, Australia, left this life on April 9, after a long illness. Mr. Shotton is survived by his wife, Penelope Gurley Hill Shotton of Anderson. Mr. Shotton is also survived by sons David (Michelle) and Steven (Sally) Shotton and daughters Natalie Roberts (Barry) and Debbie Hammond (Anthony), all of Australia. He is also survived by a brother, Peter (Elaine) and a sister, Gail Burn (Peter) of Australia. In addition, he leaves several grandchildren, Josh and Morgan Shotton, Mali, Eliza and Jack Shotton, and Andrew and Sarah Roberts, all of Australia. He also leaves several nieces and nephew there. In South Carolina, Mr. Shotton is survived by stepson, Darren Hill (Kathy), stepdaughters, Darlene Reid (Charles) and Melissa Hill Cantrell, all of Anderson, SC. Several step-grandsons, Justin Wiles (Aimee), Brad Hill (Ashley), and Ethan Hill, Collin Snipes, Jarret Snipes, Levi Wright and Matthew West. Step-granddaughters are LeeAnn Burdette (Brandon), MaKayla Hill, Miranda West and Nikki Reid Caldwell (Matthew), all of Anderson, South Carolina. He also leaves six step great grandchildren along with his beloved litte dog, Abbe, his faithful companion throughout his illness. He was predeceased by his father, Walter Shotton, and mother Catherine Wilson Shotton. He was also preceded in death by stepson, Douglas Hill, Jr. of South Carolina.
A Celebration of Life for Michael Shotton will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 beginning with visitation at the home from 1-3pm, followed by a memorial service in accordance with his wishes.
