Michael Parker Shaw passed away on November 1st, 2021 in Simpsonville, SC at the age of 65. Mike was born in North Attleboro, MA to a big Irish family with 7 siblings. He moved to West Haven, CT where he worked in the culinary field and later to Shelton, CT where he worked as an industrial wireman while raising his children. Mike retired in 2012 and moved with his family to Laurens, SC in 2015.
Mike is survived by his wife, Joyce Shaw; his children Nathan Shaw, Jessica (Don) Hutson, Casey (Anthony) Kozak and Sean (Mikayla) Albright; his five grandchildren, Caitlin and Bethany Hutson, Milan and Aubrey Kozak, and Bellamy Shaw; his siblings, Cathy (Ben) Kuropat, Lynn Shaw, Robin (Dave) Bishop and Jim (Barbara) Shaw; and his beloved dog Lily. He is predeceased by his parents, James Trafford Shaw and MaryAnn Parker; and three siblings, Jeffrey, Wendy, and Andy.
Mike was a devoted father and Umpa (grandfather). He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman, loved baseball, playing horseshoes, cribbage, flint knapping, crafting and mastering video games on his computer. He never missed a UConn basketball game and was a die-hard NY Yankees fan. He could always be found with a cup of coffee in hand and a funny story to tell. His captivating personality, sense of humor, and heart of gold will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Mike’s final wishes were to make his sacred fishing grounds his final resting place, in a private celebration with his family.
