Baseball, like life, has no clock, no time limit or “sudden death.” You know there is an end, but not exactly when.
Michael Edward Jeziorski was born in Greensboro, NC, on May 26, 1953, to Ed and Jean Jeziorski. He was welcomed into the world by his loyal and loving sister, Cheryl. Michael loved sports of all kinds but excelled in baseball and basketball. He lettered in both sports at Mt. Tabor High School in Winston-Salem, NC. After high school, he attended Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, on a baseball scholarship. Following graduation from App State, Michael worked in sales for several companies and ended his career as a General Sales Manager for Carolina Webbing in Gastonia, NC. Michael passed away peacefully on August 26, 2020, while in the care of Hospice at Greenville (SC) Memorial Hospital.
Michael’s greatest loves and achievements were his growing family. His daughter, Kelly Nouri, and husband, Darius, of Denver, NC gave him two beautiful grandchildren - Alex and Olivia. Michael loved going to their baseball games and gymnastic meets. His son, John, and wife Sarah of Savannah, GA, shared his silly humor and love of pranks on family and friends. His daughter, Kait Wallace, and husband, Jake, of Kennesaw, GA, gave Michael two sweet grandsons – Cooper was just getting to know Pops and Grady who was born just prior to Michael’s passing. Michael’s son, Will, of Acworth, not only looks a lot like his dad, but shared his love of baseball. Coach Jez coached Will’s teams from little league through high school. Edie, Mike’s wife of 33 years, is so grateful for the home they built and the family they raised in Acworth, GA.
Other survivors include Michael’s stepmother, Christine Jeziorski of Forest, VA; his sister, Cheryl, and her husband, Gary Dellinger of Holden Beach, NC, and many, many friends. A Celebration of Life for Michael will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020, from 3 pm – 6 pm at Sports and Social; 825 Battery Avenue SE #610: Atlanta, GA 30339. The red parking deck is closest to Sports and Social.
