Otis completed his high school education and served two years with the Army Reserve, where he received training in Electronic Communications. In his earlier years, Otis enjoyed an active lifestyle that included kayaking, camping, softball, and bicycling. His recent interest was a dream to live in a tiny house in Eastern Tennessee, a project he was eagerly waiting to see come to fruition.
