Michael Charles Hurston, known affectionately as Mike to his friends and family, passed away on January 29, 2024, in Greenville, South Carolina. Born on September 21, 1968, in Albany, Georgia, to Annemarie and Charles W. Hurston.
Also survived by his devoted sister, Mendy Mattox, who will remember him as a beacon of light.
He was a salesman in the lawn care industry. His colleagues respected him for his work ethic and his ability to light up a room with his easygoing demeanor and quick wit.
Beyond his professional life, Mike was a man of many interests. His love for fast cars was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of his adventurous spirit. He could often be found at car shows or behind the wheel, taking on the open road with the same zest for life that he applied to everything he did. Music was another one of Mike's passions, and his talent for playing the guitar was a joy to behold.
A die-hard fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, Mike's enthusiasm for his team was infectious, and game days were sacred occasions filled with camaraderie and spirited cheers.
Those who knew him would describe him as not just funny and adventurous, but also as a man with a heart of gold. His absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
As the sun sets on a life so brightly lived, we bid farewell to Mike Hurston, whose memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his loved ones.
