Maurice Harrington Curtis

Maurice Harrington Curtis, 75 of Pickens County passed peacefully from this life on October 21st 2016. He was the son of the late Robert Christy and Pauline Curtis. He was predeceased by his loving wife Renee Curtis , 2 sisters Genell Curtis and Ruth Gantt, brothers Guy Curtis, Donald Curtis, Winfred Curtis, Charles (Red) Curtis. He leaves behind his loving family, step children Dewayne and Angie Smith, two granddaughters, brother Wallace Curtis (Lib Curtis) Randy Curtis,Ronnie Curtis(Melissa), Sandy Blair, Sharon Barns (Matthew) Tracey James (Richard), Khristy Chapman, Debbie Gilstrap, Genell Cortright, Gayle Esancy, Charlene McCall, Rebecca Curtis, Carol Ann Porter (Mark) Gene Curtis (Sherry), Brenda Curtis, Brad Curtis, Dena Curtis, Wanda Aiken (Leogy), & numerous great nieces and nephews.

Maurice was an outdoor enthusiast, talented musician, avid fisherman, and Veteran. He loved to travel the country and experience all that nature had to offer. With his guitar and music his finger spoke the words that his mouth could not utter. He loved to walk the banks of the rushing rivers in search of arrow heads and forgotten history. He left an unspoken legacy of love,family,music and nature. He will be deeply missed.

The family will gather for a memorial service at his close friends home Robert Perry. This is a place of music and memories for Maurice.
Please dress casual and bring with you memories and music. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the YAMS (Young Appalachian Musicians) www.yamupstate.com this will make sure that the music in which Maurice loved will be carried on through the youth of Pickens. The gathering will be on Wednesday October 26th at 2:30 pm. 144 Perryville Dr. Pickens SC.

Following the service the family will be at the home of Ronnie Curtis.
