Matthew Earl (Mickey) Williams of 1004 Sierra Drive, Easley, South Carolina received his angel wings on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Open Arms Hospice surrounded by his family. He was born December 5, 1948 in Greenville, SC and was the son of the late Matthew C. and Myrtle Granger Williams.
Mickey grew up in the Brandon Mill community where he was involved in many sports. He graduated from Parker High School in 1967 and from Greenville Tech in 1968 with a degree in Industrial Maintenance. Mickey was an avid bowler, golfer and fisherman and was a member of Brandon Masonic Lodge and Hejaz Shrine.
Mickey's work career included over ten years at Edgcomb Metals and he retired, after over thirty years, from Sealed Air Corporation (Cryovac Division) in Simpsonville, SC.
He is survived by daughter, Kristen Crenshaw (Travis) of Easley, SC, son, Shannon Williams (Catherine) of Pickens, SC and daughter, Terry Hall of Simpsonville, SC. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Janie and Alyssa Crenshaw, Cody, Matt and Adam Williams, a brother, Gary Williams of Riverview, Florida and his caregiver and the mother of his children, Linda Reid Williams of Greenville, SC. A special daughter, Thayla Benfield of Myrtle Beach, SC and her sons, Justin and Bristol
He was predeceased in death by his parents and brother, James E. (Jim) Williams.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Open Arms Hospice, and especially Chaplin John, Jen, Dena, Cindy, Elaine and Mish for their love and support to Mickey and our family.
