Mary Margaret Warner, affectionately known as Peggy to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2023, at the age of 94. Born on June 9, 1929, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Peggy was the cherished daughter of the late Harry A. Gieske and Loretta (Donelon) Gieske, and the beloved sister to the late Jeanne M. Gieske. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Kenneth N. Warner, and leaves behind a legacy of love and memories.

Peggy's early life in Cincinnati laid a strong foundation for her future endeavors. She was a proud graduate of the College of Mount St. Joseph, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Her intellect and passion for science led her to a career as a chemist, a field in which she excelled until she chose to dedicate her life to her family as a full-time homemaker.

Family was the cornerstone of Peggy's life. She is survived by her loving brother, Harry A. (Josephine) Gieske, her stepson, David G. (Sylvia) Warner, her daughter, Christina M. (Gerald) Wise, her son, James B. Warner, and her adored grandsons, Matthew Warner, Joshua Warner, and Jarrod (Kristi) Wise. Peggy's warmth and nurturing spirit also touched the lives of her several nieces and nephews, who will miss her dearly.

Peggy's interests and community involvement were a testament to her vibrant character. A long-time resident of Newark, Ohio, she was a member of the Newark Chapter of the Sweet Adelines, sharing her love for music and harmony with others. Her creative talents shone brightly through her sewing, a skill she both enjoyed and excelled at. Peggy was also known among her friends and family as an animal lover especially for her numerous dogs.

Private services to be held in Cincinnati, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
