Mary Sue "Sue" Johnson Sams-Dimakis age 84 of Morristown Tennessee passed away peacefully on January 23rd, 2025, at home in Powdersville South Carolina. 

Born on April 5th, 1940, Mary Sue grew up in Morristown enveloped in the warmth of a large family. She was full of laughter and kindness to those who knew her well Mary Sue was generous with gifts to others, and she was an avid follower of the vibrant era of Elvis, as well as the music of the times.

She often shared spirited conversations, frequently accentuated by her tails of all the entertainment icons she knew personally. An avid reader, she thirsted for the knowledge of many biographies. She loved her children very much, son Ricky Sams and Tim Sams’s daughter Denise Sams-Hall. Sue is survived by her brother John Land Johnson (wife Lucy) and her sister Nita Johnson Procell, who shared life's journey with Mary Sue.

Preceded in death by her brothers Charlie Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Jim Johnson, Teddy Johnson, and sister Mickey Johnson. Mary Sue shares beloved cherished memories with an extensive family including her 7 grandchildren Lindsay, Hailee, Bo (Sandy), Lee (wife Lisa), Anthony, Kayla (husband Kenny), Charlie, Josh (wife Andrea) Ashley, and Jessica. 25 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Of whom will remember her wonderful stories and often infectious giggles. She brought joy into the lives of all who knew her well.

She will be profoundly missed and forever cherished by all she left behind. She will be laid to rest next to her mother, in Newport, TN.
