Mary Joan Dunn Frost

Mary Joan Dunn Frost of Greenville passed away April 4, 2020. Born in Greenville she was the daughter of the late O.C. Dunn and Helen Vautance League Dunn. Joan was married to her high school sweetheart of 56 years, Roy L. Frost, who predeceased her September 24, 2007. Joan worked for Graham Photo as bookkeeper for many years before retiring to care for her grandsons. She was a volunteer at St. Francis Hospital information desk. Joan was an active member of Edwards Road Baptist Church in Greenville. She was strong but gentle, sweet and giving, selfless, determined and frugal. Even though she was small in stature she was a giant among women. Joan was a faithful Christian who led by example. She was a loving, committed wife and mother. She absolutely adored and protected her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was actively involved in their daily lives. They were her pride and joy. She was a passionate football fan who always supported her sons and grandsons. Joan was affectionately known as “Nana” to all family members, close friends and football players. Joan is survived by two sons: Larry D. Frost (Linda) of Greer, SC, Don L. Frost (Gail) of Taylors, SC; two grandsons: Travis Frost (Carolina) and Hunter Frost (Lauren); two great-grandsons: Matias Frost and Luke Frost.
