Mary P. Hasty, long time resident of Greenville, South Carolina passed away after a brief illness on February 4, 2020. Known as “GrandMary” to her grandchildren, she enjoyed spending time with them, making crafts and watching their sporting events, school plays and musicals. She loved cooking for her family and was known for baking delicious cakes and making amazing lasagnas for Christmas Eve dinner.
Born on June 11, 1941 in Chesterfield, South Carolina, she was the eldest daughter of Johnnie W. and Mary P. Pate. She is survived by her sister Johnsie P. Lisenby and her husband Wayne of Columbia, South Carolina, her four children, six grandchildren and one great grandson: daughter Frances H. Cooper and her husband Ashley, their daughter Sarah F. Cooper, son Joshua W. Cooper, his wife Elizabeth and their son Duncan, son Steven A. Hasty and his wife Deborah, their son Henry P. Hasty and daughter Jesse L. Hasty, son John W. Hasty, daughter Leigh H. Holliday and her husband Tim, their son Logan H. Holliday and daughter Margaret A. (Maggie) Holliday. A private memorial service will be held in Greenville on Thursday, February 6, 2020.
