Mary Hendrix Greene

Mary Hendrix Greene, 92, was born June 5, 1931. The wife of the late Billy Joe Greene Sr. passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024, with her daughters by her side.
She was born in Cross Anchor, SC to the late John Paul Hendrix, Sr. and Edna Hughes Hendrix. Mary graduated from D.R. Hill Junior High School in 1948 and soon after married the love of her life. Together they owned and ran Greene's Furniture Store. Mary loved many things. She loved to sew, smock, church bazaars, being a part of all her grandkid's extracurricular activities. But most of all she loved and adored her family. She was selfless, and that showed when she and Billy Joe raised three of their grandkids. To know Mary was to love her. She also loved her Clemson Tigers and Atlanta Braves.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Lynn Greene and Paula Greene Frady. Six grandchildren, Trevor King (Ashley), Wil Crapps (Kelly), Casey King (Greg Woods), Ben Greene (Austin), Kensey Buchanan (Linn), and Hannah Tribble (Brantley). Twelve great-grandchildren, Karis, Trace and Luke King, Mady and Ella Crapps, Brynley Woods, Lila, and Hardy Greene, and Zoe, Leila Maxey, Keelin and Liam Buchanan.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years Billy Joe Greene Sr. a son Billy Joe Greene Jr., a granddaughter Suzanne King Kolb, and a brother William "Bill" Hendrix. She was a member of Travelers Rest United Methodist Church.

A celebration of life will be held at Travelers Rest United Methodist Church on June 2nd at 3 pm. The family will receive friends at 1:30 pm.
