Mary Doris (Do Dot) Quinn Cannon

April 17, 1939 — April 6, 2018

Mary Doris Quinn Cannon (Do-Dot), a true and faithful servant of God, entered her heavenly home on April 6, 2018. Born April 17, 1939, in Cowpens, SC, she was the daughter of the late Cole Blease and Connie Whitt Quinn. She was retired from Flowers Bakery after 30 years of service. She was a member of Parkway Freewill Baptist Church and attended faithfully as long as her health allowed. She was a loving Christian and was known to her family as a “Prayer Warrior.” She never met a stranger and made everyone feel welcome by her warm and loving spirit. You never saw Doris without a smile, even during her latter years of declining health. She left a fine example of how to live by faith. Now she is resting in peace. This is not the end, but the beginning. Our comfort lies in the assurance of knowing that she is where she longed to be. “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.”-Revelation 14:13. She is now resting with our Heavenly Father but her life will follow in ways that can not be overlooked or forgotten. She left a legacy of faith and perseverance. She fought a good fight, she kept the faith and has now finished her race. Doris loved her family, her church and the love of her life, Larry Cannon. Larry and Doris were married on January 17, 1959 and cherished a faithful, loving marriage of 48 years before the passing of her husband in 2007. Doris is survived by her daughter Connie Cannon, and son Bruce Cannon, both from Spartanburg. Four granddaughters: Nicole Gore (Joel Gore), Casey Bishop, Michelle Corn (Justin Corn) and Laura Cannon from Spartanburg. Six great grandchildren. A brother Tommy Quinn (Betty Quinn) from Pacolet, two sisters: Helen Stapleton from Boiling Springs, and Joyce Bowers (Bobby Bowers) from Greenville, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, James Larry Cannon, a son James Allan Cannon, and parents Cole Blease Quinn and Connie Whitt Quinn. Visitation will be April 11, 2018 at 12:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 1:00pm, at Parkway Free Will Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Mitchel Edge and the Rev. Bobby Bowers. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park on April 11, 2018 at 2:30 PM. Memorials may be made to Parkway Free Will Baptist Church, 3615 Parris Bridge Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
