Martha Horton Hughes

Martha Horton Hughes, a beacon of laughter and wisdom, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025, at her home in Taylors, SC. Born on December 15, 1940, in Clinton, SC, Martha lived a life characterized by her humor, thoughtfulness, and intelligence.

After a rewarding career as an Office Manager at IBM where she was admired by her colleagues, Martha found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She relished in the worlds unfurled within the pages of a good book and delighted in the nostalgia of old movies.

Predeceased by her parents, Martha Ruth and Earle Horton, as well as her brothers Johnie and Robert Horton, Martha’s memory will be cherished by her surviving brother, Roy Horton; her children, Terri Kathleen Roberts, James Michael Hughes, John Christopher Hughes (Sharon), and Joseph Andrew Hughes (Misty Carson); and her adored five grandchildren.

Martha's warm presence will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will continue to live on through the stories and laughter she shared.
