Martha D Harper

Martha D Harper of Pelzer SC passed peacefully with family by her side on August 13, 2022. She is survived by her five children, Dewayne Harper, Tony Harper, Candy Jordan, Penny Frady, and Jennifer Lambert; 18 grandchildren, and a multitude of great-grandchildren.

Martha stood at a whopping 5’ tall, but she was a tough as one could be. Those who knew her would describe her as a little firecracker. Despite her toughness, she was a softy underneath it all. She had a taste for the finer thing in life, such as cigarettes, poker machines, and Goody powder.

Martha worked at the Ritz restaurant in Pelzer for decades, and eventually became the owner. She proudly served anyone and everyone who walked through the doors – even if they couldn’t afford to pay. The business strategy didn’t pay off, but she took pride in her community, and cared more for people than for money.
