Martha Alexander

December 24, 1952 — May 29, 2024

Greenville, SC

Martha Alexander passed away on May 29, 2024, at the age of 71, in the home of her brother near Greenville, SC. Born on December 24, 1952, in Augusta, GA, Martha was the daughter of the late Hartsell and Esther Alexander of Travelers Rest, SC, who adopted and raised her and her brother.

Martha grew up in Travelers Rest, SC, where she attended Travelers Rest High School.

She is survived by her devoted children, Rhonda Sellers of Okeechobee, FL, and David Brian Alexander of Lakeland, FL, who will cherish the memory of their mother's love. Martha's brother, Jimmy Alexander, and his wife, Gwendolyn, of Greenville, SC, will also hold dear the moments of joy they shared.

David says of her, "Mom loved singing, and listened to old country, gospel, southern rock, and anything that made her laugh. Her drawings were beautiful, and art in many forms seemed to come natural to her. She loved nature, especially horses. She always strived to live right by God. She loved to be goofy and joke around, never took things too serious. She always let me know she loved me and that she was proud of me. Even with limited resources she was always willing to help someone. Mom was a blessing to be around and grow up with, and to learn from."

Jimmy adds, "She talked regularly of her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior, and her desire to see Him. Through this faith she maintained her cheery and kind disposition through some difficult last days, and she was a blessing to everyone who came around."

Rhonda simply wanted to say, "I love you." With that she speaks for all of us.

Martha's presence was a gift to her family, and her memory will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who were touched by her grace and humor.
