Mark Andrew Butts

Mark Andrew Butts of Greenville SC passed on Friday, September 9, 2022 with his family by his side. Mark is survived by his children, Blake Andrew Butts (Abby) and Saben Butts; grandchildren Charlie and Eloise Butts; and his brother Troy Butts (Judy). Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nell Butts; and his brother Robert “Bobby” Butts.

Mark grew up in Fresno, CA where he enjoyed spending time restoring and customizing vehicles with his father, Robert. He was a lifelong resident of California, until he moved to Greenville three years ago to be closer to his grandchildren.

Mark was a creative mind, he loved the arts, and he was very passionate about music. He was an accomplished flamenco guitarist, and a huge fan of The Clash and The Cure. When he wasn’t playing guitar, he was busy creating with his hands – he was an excellent woodworker and could build or fix nearly anything.

In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his son Blake – they regularly attended Greenville Drive and Swamp Rabbits games, and spent countless hours fishing together. Although he only spent the last few years in Greenville, he made the most of that time and he will be sorely missed by his family.
