Marian Silverman Neubau

Marian Silverman Neubau, of New York, NY, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025 at her home in Greenville, SC.

Known by her friends and family as Mickey, she was born and raised in New York City. Marian was a woman of great intellect and sharp wit, charming people wherever she went. Her passion for helping others led her to spend countless hours transcribing printed books into Braille for the Iowa Department for the Blind. In addition, she devoted her time to volunteering as an English as a Second Language teacher, sharing her knowledge and kindness with her community.

Marian is predeceased by Walter, her husband of 47 years, and her sister, Ronnie Simon.

She is survived by her children, James Neubau, and Andrea McKenna, both of Greenville, SC.

The family expresses its gratitude to all of Marian’s in-home caregivers and providers, especially Sharon Thompson and Marian LeGrand. Christina “Michelle” Owen, RN, EO Life Doula, provided unlimited kindness, compassion and education during Marian’s final days.
