Margaret L. Mincey, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2024, in Piedmont, South Carolina, at the age of 84. Born on January 14, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Margaret Horne and Edward Edelburg, Margaret's life was a testament to her loving, generous, and spirited nature.
Margaret, affectionately known by her friends and family as Margaret, was a proud graduate of her local high school, where she formed lifelong friendships and developed a passion for learning that stayed with her throughout her life. After graduation, she channeled her love for creativity and service into a fulfilling career as a baker, a profession where she not only showcased her talents but also spread joy through her delicious creations.
Beyond her professional life, Margaret was an avid sports fan, never missing a chance to cheer on her favorite teams. Her love for shopping was well-known, as she found great pleasure in finding the perfect gifts to express her love for her family and friends. Margaret's adventurous spirit shone through her love for horses, camping, and swimming, activities that she enjoyed well into her later years.
Margaret's zest for life was matched by her skill in the kitchen, where she was happiest baking for those she loved. Her home was often filled with the aroma of fresh-baked goods, a warm and welcoming environment that became a hub of family gatherings.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her three sons, Mark R. (Lisa) Mincey, Michael S. (Holly) Mincey, and Mitchell A. (Marianne) Mincey, as well as her six grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, who will miss her deeply.
Margaret's life was a beautiful reflection of the values she held dear: love, generosity, and a spirited approach to every day. She will be remembered as a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her, and her memory will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends.
Margaret's passing marks the end of an era, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, we celebrate the extraordinary life she lived and the countless ways she enriched our lives.
