Manuel Fain

June 30, 1941 — November 12, 2024

Greenville, SC

Manuel Fain, a cherished father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024, at McCall Hospice House. Born on June 30, 1941, in Spartanburg, SC, Manuel's life was marked by his quick wit, deep faith, and keen intellect, which endeared him to all who knew him.

Manuel grew up in Spartanburg, where he attended local schools and graduated from Spartanburg High School. He went on to dedicate 25 years of his life as a bookkeeper and accountant with Spartan Petroleum Company, a role in which he was highly respected for his meticulous attention to detail and his unwavering integrity. His last place of employment prior to retirement was as a supervisor at the Springs Industry.  His colleagues at Spartan Petroleum will remember him not only for his professional expertise but also for his humorous anecdotes that often lightened the mood in the office.

Outside of work, Manuel was a man of simple pleasures. He had an abiding love for his dogs, especially his grand dog Ollie who were his constant companions and brought him immeasurable joy. His love for the mountains was profound, and he found solace in the serenity of nature. Manuel's intelligence shone through in his thoughtful conversations and his ability to solve problems with ease.

Manuel's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He lived his beliefs through his actions, always offering a helping hand and a kind word to those in need. His faith-filled nature was an inspiration to his family and friends, and it provided him with strength and comfort throughout his life.

Family was the heart of Manuel's world. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce Fain, and his son, Barry Fain. He was also the last surviving sibling, joining his brothers Donald, Mike, and Estel Fain, and his sister, Ruth Henson, in eternal rest. His parents, Hal and Mary Fain instilled in him the values of love and family that he carried with him always.

Manuel is survived by his loving daughters, Aimee Griffin and Lori Griffin, and his son-in-law, Joey Griffin, who will miss his guidance and humor. His legacy of laughter, wisdom, and faith will live on through them and through the many lives he touched.

As we bid farewell to Manuel Fain, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man who was the embodiment of humor, intelligence, and faith. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to be a beacon of light for all who had the privilege of knowing him. Manuel's journey on earth has concluded, but his story will be told with smiles and fond memories for generations to come.
