Lynn Edith Galloway Williamson Knox, age 71, of Fountain Inn, SC, died at her home on Saturday, June 15, 2019.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Williamson Putman; two granddaughters, Savannah Lynn Putman and Jessica Jane Putman; her husband, Richard Charles Knox, and two step-daughters, Elizabeth Knox Anthony and Addie Knox Sanders; a brother, Sydney Pitt Galloway, and a sister-in-law, Jo Davis Galloway; two nephews, Andrew Davis Galloway and James Bentley Galloway, and a niece, Elizabeth Galloway Winslow. She is predeceased by her parents, Pitt F Galloway and Edith Friend Mumford Galloway, and a sister, Marian Edith Galloway.
Born in St. Johns, Michigan, Lynn was a graduate of Traverse City High School in Traverse City, Michigan. She graduated from Ferris State College in Big Rapids, Michigan, with an associate’s degree in dental hygiene and worked for many years as a dental assistant and insurance benefits manager.
Lynn was an active member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Simpsonville and served as a member of the choir and the adult formation planning team. She was a leader of a number of Discovery Weekends at Holy Cross and a staff member on several Cursillos for the Episcopal Diocese of Upper South Carolina. In honor of her passion for walking the labyrinth and teaching others about this prayer tool, she will be interred beside the labyrinth at the Holy Cross Memorial Garden.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Simpsonville with interment at the church columbarium immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Holy Cross Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 187, Simpsonville, SC 29681.
