Lyndon W. Manheim, III, better known as Sonny, passed from this life on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at his home in Easley, South Carolina. Born on October 3, 1942 in Gastonia, North Carolina to his parents, Lyndon and Ruth (Simpson) Manheim. Sonny graduated from Camden Military Academy and he attended Gardner Webb College. He will be remembered as a kind man who loved his family very much.
Sonny is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Laura M. Hewitt and his brother, Douglas Manheim. Those who will most cherish his memory are his son, Robbie Manheim; his daughters, Shannon Cochran and Sherri Campbell and her husband, Tim; his grandsons, Karson Manheim, Will Cochran and Alex Dahling and his beloved dog, Tiffa, all of Greenville. He is also survived by his sisters, Patricia M. Wearmouth and her husband, Billy of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Kaki M. Yarborough and her husband, Buzz of Brunswick, Georgia and Betsy M. Assing and her husband, Richard of Brandon, Florida.
A memorial service to remember and honor Sonny’s life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 10, 2019 in the Chapel at Christ Episcopal Church in Greenville.
