Lucy-Anne Oeser

July 27, 1940 — February 22, 2025

Lucy-Anne (Jordan) Oeser passed away at home surrounded by family. She was born in Lawrence, MA on July 27, 1940 to Lucy Mary (Perry) and James F. Jordan. She grew up on Logan Street with 3 brothers and 5 sisters. Their home was always full of cousins, aunts, uncles, neighbors, and friends. She attended grammar school at St. Lawrence O’Toole and St. Mary’s High School. She loved to put on shows where she would sing, dance, and do gymnastics.

After graduating from high school, she attended nursing school at Lawrence General Hospital, graduating in 1960. She loved her time there and made many good friends that she kept in touch with throughout the years. Her nursing career spanned 42 years at Portsmouth Hospital, Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, CA, and St. Rose Dominican in Hendersonville, NV. She was beloved by her coworkers and patients for her kind heart and compassionate care. She was a faithful volunteer at the San Diego Rescue Mission, treating everyone she met with dignity and great care.

Lucy loved the beach and spent her summers going to Jenness Beach in Rye, NH, where she met the love of her life, Rick (Richard M.) Oeser. Rick and Lucy were married 63 years ago at St. Lawrence O’Toole church on October 12, 1961. They made their home in Rye Beach, NH until they outgrew their home after their 5th child was born and moved across the river to Eliot, Maine. She welcomed all of her children’s friends into her home with her famous Toll House cookies and roast pork. She had a great sense of humor and loved to play a good practical joke. Her cartwheels across the lawn always drew an appreciative round of applause from the audience. In 1981, Lucy and Rick moved the family to San Diego, CA where they spent many happy years. After retiring, Lucy and Rick, along with their beloved dachshund, Linus, lived in Spokane, WA, Charlotte, NC, and Simpsonville, SC to be near children and grandchildren. She loved golfing, attending concerts, and Broadway musicals; but mostly she loved spending time with her family.

Lucy was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Marie Heffron, her brother, James F. Jordan, and aunt, Lola Perry.

She is survived by her husband, Rick, her daughter, Mary Ellen Fleming (Kenneth) of Charlotte, NC, “the twins” daughter, Elizabeth A. Sigafoos (David) of Simpsonville, SC, and son, Dr. Richard J. Oeser (Regan) of Simpsonville, SC, daughter, Nancy L. Oeser (Chris Stevens) of Dover, NH, and daughter, Susan Jordan DeLeon (Steve) of La Mesa, CA; her grandchildren, Joe Fleming, Max Fleming, Hallie Fleming, Katie McMahon, John Sigafoos, Tegan Sigafoos, Timothy Oeser, Richard M. Oeser, Austin Howard, Anna Howard, Oliver Stevens, Kristoffer DeLeon, Jordan DeLeon, and Lexi DeLeon; her sisters, Kathleen Killilea, Patricia Harris, Elizabeth Daher, and Eileen Aufiero and brothers, Joseph Jordan and Kevin Jordan; her Oeser in-laws, many nieces and nephews, and her good friends from Gresham Park in Simpsonville.

The family is grateful to Via Hospice, especially nurse JJ, who helped her through her last days.

In lieu of flowers, she requested that donations be made to Shriners Children's Hospital to continue their good work helping sick children.
