Lora Lee Lehmkuhl

Lora Lee Lehmkuhl, known affectionately as Lora to her friends and family, passed away on November 16, 2024, in Inman, South Carolina. Born on December 28, 1963, in Noblesville, Indiana, Lora's life was a testament to love, generosity, and selflessness. Her radiant spirit and unwavering strength were evident to all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.

Lora's journey through life was shared with her devoted spouse, Bruce Lehmkuhl, and their beloved dog, Isabella "Izzy" Lehmkuhl. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and laughter. Lora's legacy continues through her children, Joshua Smith and his wife Jennifer, Jason Smith and his wife Leslie, Heidi Lehmkuhl Henry, and Nikki Griffin and her husband David. She was a cherished grandmother to Hunter, Elizabeth, Wyatt, Devin, Fox, and Finley, whose lives were brightened by her love and guidance.

Predeceased by her parents, Aval and Edward Roy, Lora was the caring sister to Rebecca Jean Renner, Rita Lynn Malone, Roy (Bud) Emerson Jones III, and Matt Jones. She was preceded in death by her siblings Lela Kay Vandegraft, Carl Jay Woolum, and Mark Jones. 

Lora's interests and hobbies were a reflection of her zest for life and her commitment to her loved ones. She was an avid reader who found solace and adventure within the pages of countless books. Her love for puzzles mirrored the patience and attention to detail she applied to all aspects of her life. Lora's passion for travel allowed her to explore new places, but more importantly, it provided precious memories with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

A true sports enthusiast, Lora's enthusiasm for her favorite teams—the Cincinnati Bengals, the University of Cincinnati, and Clemson—was infectious. She enjoyed the camaraderie and excitement of game days, often sharing these moments with her many special friends.

Lora's life was marked by her resilience; she was a strong fighter who faced many illnesses with courage and determination. Her primary motivation was to have as much time as possible with her family, and she succeeded with grace and dignity. Her selfless nature meant that even in her toughest times, she was always more concerned for the well-being of others than for herself.
