Longino Candelaria

February 15, 1922 — January 17, 2022

Longino Candelaria, son of the late Rodulfo Candelaria and Maria Manuela Colon, passed away at his Simpsonville home, surrounded by family, on January 17th, 2022. He was preceded in death by one brother, three sisters, two wives, and three of his children.

He is survived by his nine children, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

He was born and raised in Puerto Rico and lived the majority of his life on the island. He had few hobbies, but he did enjoy net fishing. He was also an accomplished musician, and he enjoyed playing the Cuatro, the national instrument of Puerto Rico. Longino was a devoutly religious man, and when he wasn’t fishing or playing music, he could be heard quoting his favorite bible verses.

He was a salesman by trade, but also enjoyed working the land. He was the proud owner of a small coffee farm in Puerto Rico.

Longino lived a long and fulfilling life, leaving behind well over a hundred family members.
