Linda Darnell Brady, affectionately known as Jeannie and Ms. Linda to her friends and family, passed away on January 21, 2025, in Greenville, South Carolina. Born on August 16, 1950, in Gary, Indiana, Jeannie's vibrant spirit and warm heart touched the lives of many throughout her 74 years.

Jeannie's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and her work. She was a beloved mother to her daughter, Tashelle D. Brady (Damon), and a cherished grandmother to Jayla D. Anderson (Dylan) and Damon A. Goodwin. Her love and guidance were a beacon of light for her siblings, Shirley A. Brady, Jernal N. Standfield Jr., Lana F. Barnes, step siblings, Daphne R. Johnson, Marcus Standfield as well as her special niece Shirlanda F. Standfield and nephew Jermaine D. Standfield (Tiffany). Jeannie was preceded in death by her mother, Rosie Etta Standfield, stepfather, Jernal N. Standfield Sr., and brother, Bruce W. Standfield.

For over three decades, Linda served with distinction as an administrative assistant for the Gary Community School Corporation, where her exceptional customer service skills earned her multiple accolades. Her professional journey also included 15 years as a gracious hostess at Bob Evans Restaurant and 20 years as a dedicated crew member at Wendy's, where she continued to work until her passing. Jeannie’s colleagues and customers alike will remember her for her generous nature and her ability to make everyone feel valued and cared for.

Jeannie's creative flair shone brightly in her passion for interior decorating, a talent that transformed her home and the homes of her loved ones into places of beauty and comfort, which also led her to running her own interior decorating business. Her zest for life was evident in her love for shopping, which was more than a pastime—it was an adventure. Jeannie's culinary skills were legendary among her family and friends, and her dishes were the highlight of many gatherings. She also found joy in dancing and singing, often becoming the life of the party with her infectious energy.

Traveling was another of Jeannie's passions, and she seized every opportunity to explore new places and experience different cultures. These journeys were not only adventures but also a source of inspiration that fueled her creativity and broadened her perspective.

Those who knew Jeannie will remember her as the epitome of kindness. Her generosity extended beyond her immediate family to her bonus family—those friends and loved ones who were drawn into her circle and treated as her own. Jeannie's legacy is one of love, creativity, and kindness, and her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Linda's life was a testament to the power of positivity and the impact one person can have on the world around them. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
