Lillian Inez Meeker (nee Loucks) went home to be with the Lord on Mother’s Day, May 14, 2017, after a ten year battle with Dementia. She was born on April 14, 1933 in Michigan. She married Ernest Meeker on March 22, 1958. They were very happily married for 59 years. He survives her in their home in Simpsonville, SC. She is also survived by her three children and their spouses - Jane and Steve Brady, Tom and Paula Meeker, Amanda and Kirk Phillips. She is survived by six grandchildren, Daniel Brady, Elizabeth (Julian) Balatbat, and David Brady; Brian Meeker; Kaylee Phillips, Paige Phillips. She had one great granddaughter, Reagan Balatbat.
Lillian and Ernest retired to Simpsonville twenty years ago. Together they loved serving and giving to God. They both accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior early in their marriage, and they were very active in their churches their entire lives. Their close friends were all from the churches they have attended. Everyone who knew Lillian loved her for her no nonsense approach to life. She was caring, funny and very generous.
Lillian’s memorial service will be held, Friday, May 26, at 11:00 am, at Bible Baptist Church, 233 Harrison Bridge Road, Simpsonville, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 until the start of the service. There will be a private burial service at Westview Memorial Park in Laurens later the same day.
