Obiturary for Lera Irene Bryant Wilkie

Lera Bryant Wilkie, born December 23, 1920, to Alva Hugh and Era Bryant, went home to meet her Lord on  October 4, 2014.  She was predeceased by her husband H. Glen Wilkie.  She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Brenda Logan (Doug) of Kentucky, her son Dr. Michael G. Wilkie (Sharon)of South Carolina, her daughter Michelle Wilkie, grandchildren Stacie Chadwick (Scot)  of Colorado, Brent Logan  of Kentucky, Victoria, Eddie, Simon and Angelica Wilkie, and great grandchildren Taylor, Grace and Essa Chadwick and many cousins.

She was a wonderful Christian lady and a very giving person, always looking out for the good of everyone else.   She loved everyone and that was so adequately expressed when her family gave her a 90th birthday celebration and over 100 friends and family gathered.  She was a church pianist over the years and although she experienced a lot of memory loss in this past year, her music continued to flow through her 93-year old fingers.  She was a long-time resident of her home in Cambridge Park in Atlanta.

In her younger days she kept the books for the family-owned business General Tooling Corporation and she was finance secretary for Buford Highway Baptist Church for several years.

The family expresses sincere thanks to Open Arms Hospice in SC and asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Metropolitan Baptist Church, 4795 Peachtree-Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, Georgia, 30342 where visitation took place on October, 7th with funeral and burial following.
