TAYLORS, SC – Leonard (Lenny) MaNoah Bergeron passed away on Saturday evening, April 30, 2016 at McCall’s Hospice House in Simpsonville, SC.
Lenny was born to Leonard and Ethel Bergeron on October 18, 1943 in DeKalb, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Berkley and served his country proudly in Vietnam. Lenny was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing with friends. He attended Brookwood Church and reaffirmed his faith by being baptized again on October 2, 2011. He was also a longtime member of the Alano Club (AA).
God gave Lenny the strength to be strong, struggling for many years with COPD.
He is survived by his wife Yvonne. They celebrated 50 years of marriage on March 11, 2016. He is also survived by his brother Bill (Marylou) Bergeron of Aurora, IL, brothers-in law Lyle (Margaret) Schultz of Maple Park, IL, Roy Schultz of Sycamore, IL, sister-in-law Ina Schultz of DeKalb, IL and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, and sisters Nancy and Marilyn.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held Friday, May 6, 2016 at 2:00pm at the Cremation Society of South Carolina - Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC 29611. A short visitation will be held before the memorial service from 1:00pm-2:00pm.
