Lena Willis Smerdon

Lena Willis Smerdon, widow of the late Raymond F. Smerdon Sr., passed away Monday , May 18th, 2020 in Greenville, SC. She was born Saturday, October 28th, 1950 in Greenville, SC. She was also predeceased by her parents, the late Henry Ingram Sr. and Louise Frances Stroud Willis. Lena lived most of her life in Travelers Rest, SC.
Lena was a member of Unity Baptist Church and recently worshiped at Woodside Church Of God in Greenville , SC. She was a very loving, devoted and dedicated believer of Her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was involved in a number of ministries at her church. She loved Gospel Music and was an accomplished pianist, attested to by all who knew her and had heard her play. A graduate of Travelers Rest High School, Lena worked at Hamericks in Berea, SC for a number of years before it’s closing.
What Lena loved most was being a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
Lena will be missed by her children, Heather Bridges Saunders (Bob) of Greensboro, NC, Matthew Young Bridges (Renee) of Greer, SC and Jonathan Smerdon (fiancé Crissy) of Charleston, SC; her step children, Tim Smerdon (Tina), Ray Smerdon Jr. (Wendy), Lori Sammons, Cathy Batson, Donna Zoltowski (Mark); her siblings, Frances Willis Jones, Mary L. Sammons, Ernestine Flora Clanton and Henry Ingram Willis Jr. (Pam) as well as her fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
A Visitation will follow the service.
