Mr. Leland Thomas Barnett

Leland Thomas Barnett, 92, of Marietta, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018 at his home. Born in Cleveland, SC on July 30, 1925, he was the son of Thomas Otis Barnett and Nettie Jane Pool Barnett. Leland, an honest, hardworking man who loved and provided for his family, served honorably in the US Navy during WWII and was a retired training instructor for JP Stevens Textile Plant, Slater, SC. He is survived by his son Tedd Barnett of Marietta. Along with his parents, Leland was predeceased by his wife, Sybil Williams Barnett, three sisters: Hazel Buchanan, Ethel Hargrove, and Helen Elrod and five brothers: Cecil, Askel, Jesse, Homer and James Barnett. A memorial service will be held in Leland’s honor this Saturday, July 28th at Marietta First Baptist Church. Visitation will be at 11am followed by the service at Noon.
