Laurence A. Weston, 75, of District Heights, Maryland died 27th September 2020 at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC, surrounded by family after a short illness. Final services and interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be determined.
Laurence (Larry or “Wysz”) was born November 7th, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA to Helena and Henry Wyszynski. Larry went to LaSalle College High School in Wyndmoor, PA, and graduated from Duquesne University. He enlisted in the Navy, was later accepted into Officer Candidate School, and was commissioned as an Intelligence Officer. Wysz completed his service in the Navy Reserves, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Following his military service, he worked for numerous companies in the Washington, D.C. area in different capacities.
Those who knew Larry would describe him as “a character.” He never met a stranger and could strike up conversations with anyone. He enjoyed being with family and friends, and loved history, old cars, model trains, and baseball. He was active at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Forestville, MD.
Larry could always be counted on for his quick wit, a sarcastic quip, a healthy dose of charm, and detailed knowledge of obscure trivia. Never predictable, he often kept family and friends guessing, and his arrival would always include a colorful story about his adventures. His direct influence, specifically on his sons, can be seen in their tenacity (sometimes referred to as stubbornness) and their punctuality.
Larry is preceded in death by Henry and Helena Wyszynski.
He is survived by his two sons Marc (Stacey) and Peter (Kayla), his two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jack and his brother Eugene Wyszynski.
